Chelsea Emery

Chelsea is passionate about working with couples, individuals, teenagers, and children.  She finds it especially rewarding to walk alongside clients during life transitions, helping  them navigate change with clarity and confidence. With a strong interest in personality  exploration, she uses it as a tool to foster self-awareness and strengthen relationships.  Chelsea finds it beneficial for clients to make connections between their thoughts,  feelings, beliefs in relation to their past experiences, especially experiences in childhood.  She offers a compassionate presence for clients facing fertility challenges, miscarriage,  grief, parenting concerns, and the unique joys and pressures of ministry life. Chelsea has  completed a graduate certificate in child and adolescent counseling and enjoys  incorporating play therapy and expressive arts into her work with younger clients.

Experience

Before transitioning into the field of mental health counseling, Chelsea spent nine years as  an educator, teaching both elementary and middle school students. Her experience spans  six years in public schools and three years in a hybrid private Christian education setting.  Throughout her teaching career, she served students and families across South Carolina,  North Carolina, and Georgia.

Chelsea was also deeply involved in outreach ministry alongside her husband for over a  decade. As a college student and young adult, she served as a volunteer mentor to high  school students within the same ministry that later became a shared calling in their  marriage. In addition to mentoring, she contributed behind the scenes as a regional

administrative assistant for two years, supporting the ministry's operations and outreach  efforts.

Counseling is a second career for Chelsea; born from her deep desire to better support the  students and families she encountered during her years in the classroom. While teaching,  she recognized the need for more effective tools to walk alongside others in their  challenges—leading her to courageously transition into the counseling field. Now pursuing  a master’s degree in counseling, Chelsea is passionate about serving individuals, children,  and families with greater intentionality and care. She enters this work with a strong belief in  people’s capacity for healing and growth, and she is committed to creating a safe,  compassionate space where clients can explore their emotions and deepen their self awareness.

Hands in the Soil

Chelsea offers counseling from a faith-informed perspective, honoring each client’s  preferences regarding spiritual integration. She creates space for clients to decide how,  and if, they’d like to incorporate their faith into the counseling process. For those seeking  Christian counseling, Chelsea thoughtfully integrates biblical principles to support  individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. Her approach is grounded in a desire to reflect Christ’s love, compassion, and truth, while walking alongside clients in  their personal and spiritual growth. Chelsea values the integration of evidence-based  psychological practices with the enduring wisdom of Scripture in the journey toward  healing.

Faith-Based Values

Personal

Outside of her professional life, Chelsea is a wife and a mom to two elementary-aged  children. She loves spending time outdoors with her family; biking, kayaking, or playing  sports in the front yard, and unwinding with a great movie or TV series.
