Kim is a warm, client-centered therapist specializing in working with individuals, couples, and families. She understands the uncertainty that life’s challenges can bring and views life as a journey of growth and meaning. With experience across diverse cultures and backgrounds, Kim prides herself on being non-judgmental and fully present with every client she serves

.

Kim utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method, to help clients tell their stories, make meaning of life’s challenges, and achieve their goals. She is passionate about helping clients repair relationships, build deeper connections, and unlock their full potential.

  • Earned Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University

  • Earned B.A. in psychology from Clayton State University

  • Experienced with couples, families and individuals as well as the LBGTQ+ community.

  • Practices narrative therapy, EFT and solution focused and training in Gottman Method

For several years, Kim has continued working with individuals and couples gaining experience with issues such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and relational challenges. Her experience and passion for working with individuals and couples has been done both virtually and in- person and she continues to pursue training in evidenced based approaches. 

 

Kim believes that her clients are the leaders of their own journey and that she is here to help guide and motivate you to reach your relationship and individual goals.

Alignment and trust within the therapeutic relationship is the most critical factor for client success and this evidenced based framework is what guides Kim's work. Maverick Marriage Therapy is an inclusive environment for people of all beliefs and backgrounds. ALL are welcome in her practice. Her values are non-denominational Christian based, while her over-arching goals are to be supportive and responsive to the specific needs and experiences of each of her clients.

For those who choose this approach, her mission is to embody the love, compassion, and honesty of Christ while supporting clients in their relationship with God. Kim is all about self-care and thrives in relaxing spaces. She spends most of her time with her husband of 9 years and her fur-baby (9-year-old Golden-Doodle). She loves to travel and cruise as often as time allows. Spending time with family is always high on her list of things she loves to do. She is also a hobbyist and loves making things look beautiful in many ways.
