Kitty Robinson
  • Pre-licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

  • Under the supervision of Deborah Torell, MA, LMFT, LPC (License Number: 001195).

  • Earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, Toccoa Falls College

  • Training in Gottman level 1

Kitty works with couples stuck in patterns they never intended, cycles of miscommunication, emotional distance, or conflict that keep repeating. She helps couples slow those moments down, understand what’s happening underneath them, and begin relating in ways that feel more connected and steady. Her work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Focus Marital Therapy (FMT), combining research-backed approaches with a practical, down-to-earth lens. Whether working with couples in crisis, those preparing for marriage, or those simply thinking, “We know this could feel better than it does,” Kitty creates a space where meaningful change feels possible and sustainable. She is a pre-licensed marriage and family therapist, working under the supervision of Deborah Torell, MA, LMFT, LPC (License Number: 001195).

Meet Kitty! Kitty is passionate about helping couples and families build stronger, healthier relationships. She believes that our connections with others are at the heart of a meaningful life, and that even the most strained relationships can grow with the right support. Through a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach, she works with clients to improve communication, navigate conflict, and deepen emotional understanding. Whether guiding couples through challenges or supporting families in times of transition, her goal is to create a safe space where healing and lasting change can take root.

She believes most relationship struggles aren’t about a lack of effort, but patterns that form quietly over time, making “just try harder” ineffective. Rather than focusing on blame, she helps clients understand the why behind their reactions so they can respond with greater clarity and intention. Her goal is to help couples move from feeling stuck and disconnected to experiencing steadiness and connection again, even when life itself still feels uncertain.

Ideals

Kitty integrates a Christian perspective for clients who desire it, approaching faith with humility and care. She believes Biblical faith offers hope and grounding in relational healing.

Faith-Based Values

Kitty and her husband of 30 years have been on the other side of the therapy relationship, needing support from couples counseling. It’s out of her own need of relational repair that she offers hope to other couples. Outside of the therapy room, she’s a mom who puts a questionable amount of energy into running long distances and is slowly section-hiking the Appalachian Trail, hoping to finish before she qualifies for senior discounts.
