Meet Kim

Kim North
Kim truly believes in the power of hope. For many people, considering therapy is the first step toward healing and discovering new possibilities. She believes in each person’s capacity to heal, grow, and experience meaningful change through authentic connection. Whether clients are navigating challenges individually, as a couple, or as a family, Kim is honored to walk alongside them on their journey.
Kim believes the foundation of effective therapy is the relationship built between therapist and client. When trust is established, healing becomes possible. She strives to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Kim considers it a privilege to earn that trust and partner with clients as they explore growth, restoration, and renewed hope.

Kim brings a diverse background in healthcare, ministry, and family life to her work as a counselor. Prior to entering the counseling field, Kim worked as a registered nurse in both hospital and home healthcare settings, where she gained a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and relational challenges individuals and families experience through illness, caregiving, and life transitions.
Kim and her family spent eight years serving in full-time ministry in Latin America, working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and gaining valuable experience in cross-cultural relationships and adjustment. Her experiences as a homeschool mom and business owner have further enriched her understanding of family dynamics, parenting, leadership, and personal growth.
Throughout each season of her career, Kim found herself drawn to roles centered on helping others. From nursing and ministry to supporting families and building relationships, each experience deepened her passion for caring for people. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural next step, bringing together her professional experience, personal journey, and heart for helping others heal and grow.
Kim believes healing happens through connection, trust, and feeling truly understood. She approaches therapy with compassion, curiosity, and collaboration, creating a space where clients can explore their stories, recognize patterns, and move toward meaningful growth.
Drawing from Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Gottman-informed strategies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-informed strategies, Kim helps individuals, couples, and families build stronger relationships and greater self-awareness. She values creating a supportive, authentic environment where clients feel safe to be honest, challenged to grow, and comfortable being themselves.

Personal
Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and children and values the simple moments that make life meaningful. She loves cozy movie nights with her husband, antiquing adventures with her daughter, and learning complicated board games from her son.
When she isn’t working with clients, you can often find Kim with a good book, exploring a new interest, or enjoying time with the people she loves most. She believes some of the best conversations happen around the table, on a long walk, or during a family adventure, and she is always up for a little laughter along the way. Her guilty pleasure is watching true crime documentaries.
For clients who wish to incorporate faith into therapy, Kim is honored to integrate spiritual principles and spiritual perspectives into the counseling process. She also recognizes that each person’s journey is unique and respects each client’s choice regarding how faith and spirituality are included in their therapeutic experience.
